Some family friends were telling my parents today that “comedians this days think that just saying they’re gay makes them funny” Bitch yes it does….. we don’t need to tell actual jokes ok….. the homophobia is real…. smh everybody knows u have to be gay to be truly funny

So they held a feminism talk for my university group (of mainly science majors) …

The lecturer: “Research has proven that seeing women only performing a limited number of roles in the media prevents young girls from exploring all career options. My PhD explores how”

Some white male idiot: “Ughhh… have you considered that maybe the ‘general public’ are bad at making decisions???? I cErtainly didn’t choose an engineering degree because I saw a particular mAn do it… all women are just idiots and your PhD is wrong blah blah blah…”

(At this point my eyes cannot physically role any further back, and several women have their hands angrily in the air)

The lecturer, a legend: “engineering huh? Tell me, did you ever have a female math teacher?”

The idiot: “Ummmmm…. well no.”

So I’m starting uni in a few weeks and

What sort of bags does everyone carry?? A back pack seems kinda daggy, but my handbag is too small for large books…

Why do crazy, life changing events all happen in one whirlwind?

I have had the craziest, roller coaster day.

I found out I was placed in the top 30 people in my state based on my final exams (and immediately burst into tears) and then received an early offer to my ideal, highly selective uni course!

I also came out to my sister. It was a spur of the moment decision and very emotional, but she was so supportive and told me her best friend had come out to her earlier this year. I am completely emotionally exhausted.
