we really want to counter that nasty, pervasive, image of queer women as predatory sex-pests, which honestly really affected me when i was realising who i was during high school. instead we’ve written about our heartbreak in the melodramatic tradition of guys like weezer and cake, but in very explicitly gay terms (the album itself is called and will be promoted as lesbian devastation, and of course it’s full of ‘she’ pronouns). this video’s gonna channel proper 90s/00s teen rom com vibes, and in it i get to live my bliss as a sad-puppy version of jane lane, complete with a burger phone ™. it’ll be great and we’re gonna fight the wlw corner while making music people like, which is even greater :))))
